Frequently asked Questions

Learn More

How soon can we stain a new pressure-treated fence?

When the wood’s moisture content drops into the target range—usually 4–12 weeks here. We test it and schedule accordingly.

Can you stain cedar/cypress right away?

Often sooner than PT pine, but we still check moisture and let the surface acclimate a bit before staining.

Oil or water-based—what’s better in Florida?

Both work. Oil penetrates and warms the tone; water-based dries faster and is low-odor with excellent UV packages. We match the chemistry to your site and look

Will stain stop termites?

No. Stain/seal is for water and UV. Termite protection is a separate pest-control service; your fence lumber is treated, and we keep wood off-soil where possible.

Do you power-wash first?

We low-pressure wash with cleaners/brighteners, not destructive blasting. It preserves the surface and helps stain penetrate evenly.

How long will the color last?

Most semi-transparent systems look great for 2–4 years here; solid colors can last 3–5. Sun exposure is the big variable.

What if irrigation keeps hitting the fence?

We’ll recommend nozzle tweaks or splash guards. Minerals from sprinklers can stain; a quick rinse routine helps a lot.

Will stain make the fence slippery near the pool?

No—we’re treating vertical surfaces. We protect pool decks and coping during application.
